K-Tips deliver something rare: luxury, undetectable results that move, part, and feel like your own hair. But that result isn’t a product you buy once it’s an investment you maintain. That investment isn’t for everyone.

The Problem: Luxury Extensions Are Often Sold Wrong

Most salons sell K-Tips as a “set it and forget it” service. Get them installed, come back in six months, done. That framing sets clients up to damage their own hair because K-Tips don’t work that way, and no responsible stylist would tell you otherwise.

The Education: What K-Tip Maintenance Actually Requires

K-Tips typically last around six months, and the bonds themselves are low maintenance day-to-day. But healthy hair underneath them is not automatic. It requires a stylist actively protecting it.That’s why Maison Ivory clients return every 4 to 6 weeks for maintenance. This is not a shampoo appointment. Each visit includes:

• A close examination of the hair for breakage or stress near the bond assessment of whether bonds need to be re-applied. Careful separation and detangling to prevent matting. A controlled drying process that protects the hair from damage or breakage

This is the work your maintenance price reflects not a wash and style.

Who K-Tips Are For

K-Tips at Maison Ivory Hair are designed for the client who:

• Values luxury, customized results, wants a fully undetectable, natural finish, is willing and able to follow the maintenance protocol her stylist sets and, can commit to returning every 4–6 weeks without exception

Who K-Tips Are Not For

At Maison Ivory Hair the interest is protecting your hair, not just selling a service.

K-Tips are not recommended for:

Clients who can’t commit to the protocol. If the maintenance schedule isn’t followed, the risk of breakage rises significantly. This service requires partnership between client and stylist.

Clients with active scalp conditions. Seborrheic dermatitis, scalp yeast, or any condition causing ongoing flaking or heavy buildup makes it unsafe to properly clean around the bonds without risking damage to the hair.

Clients who are not relaxer-free. Relaxers chemically straighten hair, and K-Tips remain in for around six months. During that time, a chemical straightening system cannot be applied to new growth without compromising the hair at the bond site. At Maison Ivory Hair, K-Tip clients must be natural, relaxer-free.
